چکیده

This study aimed to investigate the influence of bimodal TiO2/nanoTiO2 coatings obtained in PVD/ALD hybrid process on an Al-Si-Cu-type aluminium alloy physicochemical properties investigated materials. The reference materials were uncoated substrates and samples coated with TiO2 single PVD ALD processes. Tests carried out morphology using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) atomic force (AFM) determine structure tested their properties. tests potentiodynamic electrochemical impedance spectroscopy methods. analysis corrosion products during was performed SEM EDS analysis. Based anode polarisation curves Tafel analysis, it found that a sample demonstrated highest resistance coating-type TiO2/nanoTiO2, which had lowest value current resistance. slightest characteristic for uncovered samples. Moreover, improvement tribological contact surfaces counter-specimen made cemented carbides demonstrated.

THE INFLUENCE OF DRY SLIDING ON PRCIPITATION HARDENING BEHAVIORS OF Al-Cu-Si ALLOY

Abstract: Cold working performed before an aging treatment has a significant effect on size and amount of precipitate produced. This could be caused by the increase in defect density, such as vacancies and dislocations. In this research, the Al-Cu-Si alloy was solution-treated, wear-tested and then artificially aged for a period of 1–5 h. Changes in the amount of precipitate, in the lattice par...

Heat Transfer during Melt Spinning of Al-7%si Alloy on a Cu-be Wheel

Transient heat transfer models of the single-wheel meltspinning process are developed and applied to quantify the effect of process variables including interface depressions on solidification, temperature evolution, thickness variations, and surface depressions in the cast product. Firstly, a transient one-dimensional heat-transfer model of the melt-spinning process called STRIP1D was developed...

Development of hard intermetallic coatings on austenitic stainless steel by hot dipping in an Al-Si alloy

The austenitic stainless steel was coated by dipping into a molten Al-12.4%Si alloy at 765oC. The effect of immersion times in the range of 60 to 900 s was investigated with respect to the phase nature, thickness, and microhardness. An uniform layer (~12 m) of Al12(Fe,Cr)3Si2 intermetallic with hexagonal crystalline structure is formed, irrespectively the immersion time. Microhardness of the c...

The Effect of Cu Additions on the Precipitation Kinetics in an Al-Mg-Si Alloy with Excess Si

The microstructural evolution during age hardening of a Cu-bearing Al-Mg-Si alloy has been investigated by the three-dimensional atom probe (3DAP) and transmission electron microscope (TEM) techniques, in order to clarify the effect of Cu on the initial age-hardening response. After 30 minutes of artificial aging at 175 8C, the alloy shows a significant increase in hardness. The TEM observation...

Anti-corrosive Properties of CeO2 Conversion Coatings on Aluminum Alloy 2024 Prepared by Dip Immersion Method

As an alternative to chromate conversion coatings, rare-earth coatings especially cerium, because of the low toxicity, have attracted considerable attention. Using dip immersion method, cerium-based conversion coating was deposited on aluminum 2024. Corrosion resistance was studied in 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution using potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and surface ...
